“All he wants to do is drive the John Deere tractor on the farm all day long. It is his love of the John Deere tractor that inspired me to build him a John Deere tractor bed. I wanted him to have something of his own to enjoy and play with at home,” says Frans.
And just look at how cool this tractor bed is! Even the lights work. JDI Times asked Frans and his wife, Isolde, if they have been approached by John Deere to produce a toy range of beds or even a new range of beds. “No, no, no, it was a time-consuming and pricey affair and I enjoyed it immensely, but it’s not something I would consider doing for a living,” Frans responded.
Isolde says Boeta was definitely surprised when the bed was unveiled: “He jumped in immediately with a big smile on his face.”
Frans says it took him about two and a half weeks to complete the bed, working on it on and off and he says it was challenging not working off a plan, but it was very rewarding as well.
